What treatment can I have for teeth grinding?

Botox® for Bruxism and Non-Surgical Facial Contouring – What is it Newcastle Skin Clinic now offers a Jawtox treatment. Botox® can also be used to treat TMD and Bruxism (grinding the teeth and / or clenching the jaw) which can be a cause of headaches and the appearance of a “square jaw”. A dosage and treatment plan will be discussed during your consultation. –

Why Luisa recommends it Hypertrophy of the masseter muscle, which may lead to the appearance of a severe square jaw, is another side effect of bruxism. Treatments with Botulinum Toxin Type A., commonly known as botulinum toxin, can provide tremendous relief from jaw soreness, headaches, and other unpleasant problems associated with Bruxism. –

Who is using it (celebs!) A favourite amongst the Hollywood elite for its non-surgical contouring benefits. –

What happens during the treatment The procedure takes about 5-10 minutes. Botox is injected into the enlarged muscle using a fine short needle. The muscle is weakened and will reduce in size creating a softer rounded appearance of the jaw line. Post treatment, the area may have some slight redness and swelling, which normally resolves within two hours. –

How long for the treatment to take effect The treatment normally starts to take effect after 4 to 14 days, but this may vary slightly with some individuals. Some patients require a second appointment after 12 weeks and following this the full effects will normally last between 3 to 4 months. –
